Kubota: Price File Update

The Kubota Price file Update is a streamlined way of processing part price updates. Every night, an automated job pulls price updates and part substitution data from Kubota and automatically uses this data to update your system.

Setup the Automated Price Update

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Interfaces > Kubota > Price File Update.

  2. Enter or search for the Vendor Number in the Vendor field associated with your Kubota parts.

  3. In the PDF Report User ID field, enter the ID of the user that should receive the PDF reports.

If the user is left blank, then the reports are sent to the user configured in Configuration > Miscellaneous > Other > System Settingsin the Job Schedule User field. If this option is blank too, then the report is sent to CDKJOBSCH.

  4. Make a selection from the drop down for each of the Model, Class, Source, and Type fields.

The choices listed in the drop downs represent the corresponding values in the PARTPRC file. If no value is selected, nothing is mapped to that field during the price update run.

  5. To have the system automatically check for updates, select the Check for updates nightly checkbox.

  6. Set these fields as desired:

    • Desired Percentage Cutoff—causes a report to be generated for all parts that have their prices (List or Cost) increased by more than the entered cutoff percentage during the price update.

    • Print Return Code Change Report—if checked, causes a report to be generated for all parts that have their return codes changed during the price update.

    • Print Parts Not Found Report—if checked, causes a report to be generated for all parts that exist on the system for the Komatsu vendor that were not found in the price file generated during the price update process. It is recommended that this box remains unchecked - due to the nature of the new price update process, not all parts will have their prices updated during every automated price update run.

  7. Once you are satisfied with your Kubota Price File Update configuration, click Save to save your settings.

The Automated Price Update process configuration is complete.

Process Walkthrough

Kubota's price files and supersession files are released monthly to IntelliDealer. IntelliDealer hosts the files for dealers to download. The process of downloading these files is automated to generate the IntelliDealer-formatted 158-byte price file and call the greenscreen Price File update program (#PARTPRC). This process also stores all data from the Kubota price file directly into the KUBPARTPRC table (as some of the fields are not compatible with the PARTPRC format).

If the Check for updates nightly checkbox is selected, the following process happens nightly:

  1. Every night at 9:00 PM, IntelliDealer polls the Kubota price file server for a new price file. If there is a new price file, IntelliDealer runs the Download Kubota Price File job.

  2. The KUBPARTPRC table is cleared and repopulated with data from the Kubota price file.

  3. The records from the Kubota Price File are compiled into the IntelliDealer-formatted 158-byte price file "KUB158" to be consumed by the #PARTPRC program.

  4. The records from the Kubota Supersession file are compiled into the flat file "KUBSUB", also to be consumed by the #PARTPRC program.

  5. The KUBSUB file is submitted to an automated price update run (#PARTPRC) using the settings configured on the Kubota Price File configuration screen.

  6. A PDF report is generated under the printer output > PDF Report screen, under the user that is configured as the PDF User Id. The report lists any errors generated while running the report.

The process is now complete and will run again at 9:00 PM the following night.

Manually Running the Price Update

This price file update process can be initiated manually as well. To initiate it manually:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Interfaces > Kubota > Price File Update.

  2. Click the Download Price File.

This forces a download of the latest file, even if it has already been downloaded. The job runs in the background. You will get a notification when the job is complete.
