Subs Transfer
Use the Subs Transfer screen to transfer part sales history and other ordering information from a discontinued part to a substitute part number. Not all fields are rebuilt on the substitution part immediately, for example the Company Last 12. The Company Last 12 value is only updated during the first full database reorganize after the parts month end.
Prerequisites: All substitute parts must be entered in the part master file before the sales history or ordering specifications can be transferred.
The Subs Transfer screen is accessed from the Subs screen by clicking the Click here to transfer parent part information link.

Additional Information
Once sales have been transferred, the system automatically puts a do not order code D on the parent part to prevent the parent part from being reordered. The message TRANSFERRED TO SUBS is also loaded in the Machine field of the parent part and the sales history is set to 0. The date modified is changed to the date the transfer took place.
The ordering specifications in most cases should also be transferred at the same time. The only time that you may not want to transfer the ordering specifications is in the case where the parent part subs to a part already on file that has been sold regularly for some period of time.
If the activity code on the sub-to part number is blank, the activity code is set to T during the sub transfer.
Screen Description
Fields on the Subs Transfer screen are:
| Field | Description |

| Sales History |
If you wish to have sales history information from the parent part transferred to the substitution part. Once the on-hand of the parent part number is 0 or near 0, the sales history should be transferred to the sub part. If a part subs to a part that already has a sales history, the parent part's sales history is added to the sub part's sales history. If one part subs to two of another part, the sales history of the parent part is multiplied by the quantity (2 times) of the sub part. For example, if part A subs to 2 of part B, the sales history of part A is transferred as double that of part B. When the Sales History is transferred from the parent part blank Activity Code entries on the parent part are converted to an entry of 'T', or transferred. If the Activity Code was not blank, the sub part inherits the parent's Activity Code. |
