SAM Programs

Use the SAM Programs screen to add, edit or view selected SAM programs. SAM programs are used as part of the service agreement application and is a way to code contracts for reporting. Valid SAM Programs appear on the Select Program field drop down list throughout the service system application.

To open the SAM Programs screen, click the SAM Program link on the Agreements and Warranty list of the Configuration Quick links screen and select Service from the drop down list.

Sorting options on the SAM Programs screen are:

Sort by
Field Description
Program Sort the search results by SAM program.
Description Sort the search results by SAM program description.
Type Sort the search results by type.
Code Sort the search results by code.

Search fields on the SAM Programs screen are:

Field Description
Select Program Search for a SAM program by entering a program name.
Select Description Search for a SAM program by entering a program description.
Select Type Search for a SAM program by selecting a type from the drop down list (e.g. all types, additive, actual, or deactivated).
Select Code Search for a SAM program by selecting a cash code from the drop down list (e.g. all cash codes, active, customer, warranty, or internal).

Fields on the SAM Programs screen are:

Field Description
Program The SAM program identifier.
Description A brief description of the SAM program.
Type

The status of the program. When a contract is created using a program marked as:

  • Actual, the system lays the schedule out at the intervals defined within the program.
    For example, a unit with 35 hours which is set up using an Actual SAM agreement with durations of 250, 500, and 750. The system requires the unit to come in when the hours reach 250, 500 and 750.
  • Additive, the system takes the hour metering reading on the unit and adds the first interval hours to it to determine when the first service occurs.
    For example, a unit with 35 hours which is set up using an Additive SAM agreement with the same durations (250, 500, 750), requires the unit to come in when the hours reach 285 (250 + 35), 535 (500 + 35), and 785 (750 + 35).
Cash Code The default cash code used when a work order is added from Service Agreements.

Click a program name on the Program list and the SAM Programs screen opens allowing you to edit the selected program.

Click the Need to create a new program? Click here to add link to add a SAM program.

Click Close to close the SAM Program screen and return to the Configuration Quick Links screen.
