Electronic Picking Ticket System Overview

You can create an electronic pick-list for part invoices created in IntelliDealer. This is called a PICPAK. The Parts Invoice includes a Picking Status field that indicates picking status of the part. The wireless inventory Order Picking system allows for parts tickets to be picked separately and tracked back to the parts invoicing system.

To enable, you must set these security switches:

  • 990 - Wireless Inventory, Access Order—selections available from the drop down are:

    • No Access user has no access to the wireless inventory.

    • Method A involves no scanning and requires the user to manually verify the parts and quantities being picked in the Wireless Inventory Control application.

    • Method B involves scanning every part on the order to validate that the correct item was picked.

  • 823 - Parts Invoicing, Electronic Order Picking—If selected, presents the user with an option to mark the parts on an invoice as "Ready To Be Picked" when they click the PICPAK button on the Parts Invoicing Details screen.

After the above switches have been activated, use one of the following methods to create an electronic pick-list:

Method A

  1. After creating the desired parts invoice(s) in IntelliDealer, click the PICPAK button on the Parts Invoicing Details tab.

  2. Click the PICPAK button.

  3. Select Ready To Be Picked then click Continue.

The order closes and the Picking Status of each part on the order is updated to R (Ready to be picked).

If you select Ready To Be Picked then reopen the invoice before the parts have been picked and select Print PicPak in the PicPak window, the Picking Statusis cleared.

  4. Next, log in to the Wireless Inventory Control application and select the Branch for which the orders were created, then click Continue.

The application displays options to enter the Parts Inventory Control module or the Equipment Inventory Control module.

  5. Select Parts Inventory Control.

  6. Click the Order Picking link.

The Order Picking link does not appear in the Parts Inventory Control menu unless you have selected an order picking method in the Access Order Picking switch on the Authorization List for Wireless Inventory screen.

  7. Click the desired Order number to begin picking the required parts.

Parts on the Invoice Picking screen are listed in bin sequence by default.

  8. On the Invoice Picking screen, click the Verify link next to each part that you locate. Doing so refreshes the screen, allowing you to enter the Quantity being picked for the order.

  9. Enter the number of parts being picked in the Quantity field, then click Save to return to the Invoice Picking screen and select the next part on the order.

    • If the Quantity fulfills the entire number of required parts, the Picking Status is updated to P (Fully picked).

    • If the Quantity does not fulfill the number of required parts, the Picking Status is updated to H (Partially picked).

After selecting the pick Quantity for each part on the order, the Invoice Picking screen refreshes to display the total number of parts that were picked for the order.

  10. Click Complete.

    The following updates occur:

    • The Picking Status on the order is updated and displayed on the order in IntelliDealer (either Picking Completed - Partial Fulfillment, or Picking Completed)

    • An IntelliDealer message is sent to the Salesperson assigned to the order, indicating that the picking is complete.

    • The system automatically prints a PICPAK for the order on the user's default printer.

    • If there is a Freight Part Number configured for the branch in the CMBR5 table, the following screen will appear allowing you to add a Freight Charge to the order. (If freight is not to be applied to the order, simply press Skip on this screen)

Method B

  2. Click the PICPAK button.

  3. Select Ready To Be Picked then click Continue.

If you select Ready To Be Picked then reopen the invoice before the parts have been picked and select Print PicPak in the PicPak window, the Picking Statusis cleared.

  4. Log in to the Wireless Inventory Control application and select the Branch for which the orders were created, then click Continue.

  8. Scan the part listed in the Part # field to populate the Part field and Quantity field with the full quantity required by the order. If the number of parts being picked is fewer than what is required for the order, you can manually overwrite the Quantity to a smaller amount.

After entering the desired Quantity, click Next to pick the next part on the order. Repeat step 8 for each part on the order, then click Complete or Done when you are finished picking the parts.

In IntelliDealer, the same updates as for Method A occur.
