Option Categories

To open the Option Categories screen, click a Code or the Need to create a new category? Click here to add link on the Option Categories screen.
The Option Categories screen allows you to add new option category codes or maintain existing option category codes.
The following fields appear on the Option Categories screen:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | A one character code used to represent the option code on the base profile. |
| Description | A brief description of the option category. |
| Active for System |
Controls whether the option category code is active for use within the system.
Note: This field only appears if the Option Categories screen is accessed by clicking on a Code. |
The following buttons allow you to complete your work on the Option Category screen:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves changes made on the Option Categories screen. |
| Copy |
Copies the selected option category code. Note: This button appears only by accessing the Option Categories screen by clicking on a Code. |
| Save & New |
Saves a newly added option category code and refreshes the Option Categories screen, allowing you to add another option category code without closing the screen. Note: This button appears only by accessing the Option Categories screen by clicking the Need to create a new category? Click here to add link. |
| Save & Next |
Allows you to save any edits/changes made to the selected option category code and scroll through to the next option category code in the list to apply any edits/changes. Note: This button appears only by accessing the Option Categories screen by clicking on a Code. |
| Close | Closes the Option Categories screen without saving and returns to the Option Categories screen. |
