Washout
Use the Washout screen to view a breakdown of the unit's costs. To access the screen, click the Washout link on the Equipment Profile screen.
Fields on the Washout screen are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Stock Number | The unit's stock number. |
| Make | The manufacturer of the unit. |
| Model | The model number on the unit. |
| Customer Invoice Amount Less Over Allowance | The customer's invoice amount minus the over allowance costs. |
| Cost | The unit's total cost. |
| Margin $ | Displays the current margin on the sales of the unit. |
| Margin % | The margin percentage value of the unit's profitability. |
| Write Down | A write down is an inventory evaluation very similar to depreciation. The unit's cost is changed as a result of a non inventory transaction. This is normally for income tax purposes. Write down transactions adjust the net book value but do not adjust the current cost. The margin report compares the selling price with the current cost of the unit rather than the net book value. This indicates a true margin regardless of the accounting gain or loss that may be reported by the sale (selling price versus net book value). |
