Add a Unit
You can use the Add a Unit screen to quickly add invoiced units to a customer's profile.

Quick Adding Customer Owned Equipment

On the Customer Profile screen, click the Customer Equipment link.
The Customer Equipment screen appears displaying a list of this customer's equipment.

Click the Is a machine missing from the list? Click here to add link.
The Add a unit screen appears.

Since this a piece of equipment you did not already sell to the customer using IntelliDealer, set the Type to Used.

Fill in the remaining fields, referring to the Screen Description below.

Click Save to quick add this equipment profile and close the Add a unit screen.
The Customer Equipment screen refreshes and displays the quick added equipment profile.
Screen Description
The information fields on the Add a Unit screen are:

Field | Description |
Name | The customer's name. |
Business Phone Number | The customer's phone number. |
Salesperson | The salesperson that is responsible for this customer. |
Note: Some field values listed below default to the settings on the Quick Add Defaults screen.
The fields on the Add a Unit screen are:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Type | Identifies if the unit is Used or New. |
Base | Base number to be assigned to this unit. |
Make | The manufacturer of the unit. |
Model | The model number on the unit. |
Description | A brief description of the unit. |
Hours | The hour meter reading on the unit. |
Group | The group the unit is categorized under. |
In/Out |
Toggle the traffic status of the unit to either In or Out. Units added from the customer side are shown as Out on this screen by default but carry the Sold status on the unit profile. |
Machine Serial Number |
The unit's serial number. |
Engine Serial Number | The serial number on the unit's engine block. |
Transmission Serial Number | The serial number on the unit's transmission. |
Cab Serial Number | The serial number on the unit's cab. |
Salesperson | VitalEdge recommends using the salesman number “SYS”, so all quick added customer equipment records can be reported on and changed. |
Customer Invoice Date |
The date the unit was purchased by the customer. The invoice date should be the date when the customer acquired this equipment, not the date your dealership first added an equipment profile into IntelliDealer. |
Customer Fleet # | If your customer assigns fleet/tag numbers to their equipment, it can be entered here for reference. |
Use these buttons to complete your work on the Add a Unit screen:
Button | Function |
---|---|
Save | Saves changes made to the Add a Unit screen and updates the Customer Equipment screen. |
Close | Closes the Add a Unit screen without saving and returns to the Customer Equipment screen. |
