Margin Programs - Configuration Screen

You can use the Margin Programs screen to configure new margin programs which can be applied to equipment quotes so the dealership can receive a discount from the manufacturer based on a percentage of the unit's original manufacturer's cost, or a fixed amount.

To open the Margin Programs screen, click the Need to add a Program? Click here to add link on the Margin Programs screen.

Creating a New Margin Program

  1. From anywhere in IntelliDealer, navigate to Configuration > Equipment > General > Margin Programs.

    Margin Programs Listing screen appears.

  2. Click the Need to add a Program? Click here to add link.

  3. Fill in the fields, referring to the table below.

  4. Click Save to save the margin program and return to the Margin Programs screen.
    -or-
    Click Save & New to save the margin program and refresh the Margin Programs screen so that you may configure another margin program.

Screen Description

The fields on the Margin Programs screen are:

Field Description
Program Code The unique identifier for the margin program.
Description A brief description of the margin program.
Percentage

The percentage of the original manufacturer's cost of the unit(s) on the segment to be discounted from the Total Cost of the segment, when applying the selected margin program to a quote.

If Program % is used, then it is calculated off of the Equipment Profile's Invoice Amount field, not the Current Cost, Net Book Value OR the Sale Price.
or Dollar Amount The dollar amount to be discounted from the Total Cost of the segment when applying the selected margin program to a quote.
Type The type of equipment that must be on the segment for the margin program to be applied; either New, Used, or Both.
Class (Optional) The class of equipment that must be on the segment for the margin program to be applied.
Account Number The general ledger account that discounted dollar amounts attributed to the selected margin program will be posted to.
User Override Indicates whether the discount percentage or amount for the selected margin program can be overwritten by a user on the Margin Worksheet. And also whether users can override the description.
Active for System Indicates whether the selected margin program can be applied to new quotes created in the system. This field is only shown for existing entries. When creating a new Margin Program, the system assumes it should be active.

Use these buttons to complete your work on the Margin Programs screen:

Button Function
Save Saves the changes made on the Margin Programs screen.
Copy

Copies the information from the selected margin program into a new Margin Programs screen, allowing you to quickly create a new margin program.

This button only appears when editing an existing margin program.
Save & Next

Saves the changes made on the Margin Programs screen and opens the next margin program in a new screen.

This button only appears when editing an existing margin program.
Save & New Saves the changes made on the Margin Programs screen and refreshes it, allowing you to quickly create a new margin program.
Close Closes the Margin Programs screen without saving any changes.
