Rental Reason Codes
Use the Rental Reason Codes screen to search for, edit, and add rental reason codes. Rental reason codes added to the system appear on the Exchange Reason/Delete Contract Reason screen and can be used as a valid rental reason code throughout the rental counter module. The Exchange Reason/Delete Contract Reason screen is accessed by clicking the Delete button on the Customer tab or when returning a rental contract.
To open the Rental Reason Codes screen, navigate to Configuration > Rental > Setup > Rental Reason Codes.
The sorting options on the Rental Reason Codes screen are:

| Code | Sort the search results by reason code. |
| Type | Sort the search results by type. |
| Description | Sort the search results by description. |
The search fields on the Rental Reason Codes screen are:

| Select Code | Search for rental reason codes by entering a rental reason code. |
| Select Type | Search for rental reason codes by entering a type. |
| Select Description | Search for rental reason codes by entering a description. |
The fields on the Rental Reason Codes screen are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | The rental reason code. |
| Type | The type of rental reason (e.g. Rental Exchange, Rental Cancel, Rental Credit or Rate Override). |
| Description | A brief description of the rental reason code. |
Click the Need to add a new reason code? Click here to add link to add a new rental reason code.
Click Close to close the Rental Reason Codes screen and return to the Configuration Quick Links screen.
