Types
Use the Types screen to define the typical types of field and shop service codes within the system. The Types code indicates why the work needs to be done. Valid type codes appear on the Work Order - Type screen accessed by clicking the Search 
icon next to the Type field throughout the service system.
To open the Types screen, navigate to Configuration > Service > Work Orders > Types.
The sorting options on the Types screen are:

| Field | Description |
| Code | Sort the search results by work order type code. |
| Description | Sort the search results by work order type code description. |
The search fields on the Types screen are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Code | Search for a work order type code by entering a work order type code. |
| Select Description | Search for a work order type code by entering a work order type code description. |
| Include Inactive | If selected, includes inactive work order type codes within the search results. |
The fields on the Types screen are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | A one character alphanumeric code which represents the work order type code within the system. |
| Description | A brief description of the work order type code. |
| Location | The location for which the selected type code applies. |
Valid type codes are:

| FW | Field Warranty |
| SW | Shop Warranty |
| FC | Field Customer |
| SC | Shop Customer |
| FI | Field Internal |
| SI | Shop Internal |
| FR | Field Rental |
| SR | Shop Rental |
Click a Code to edit an existing work order type code.
Click the Need to create a new type? Click here to add link to add a new work order type code to the system.
Click Close to close the Types screen and return to the Configuration Quick Links screen.
