Consignment: Details
Use the Consignment screen to manage consignment parts.
Consignment refers to inventory that is not at one of a dealer's locations. For example, the parts may be in storage or on a field truck. Consignment allows a parts requisition to a work order to relieve the consignment inventory, in place of relieving a location's parts inventory.
This screen also allows you to set up a new consignment.
The following conditions apply when using consignment sales order requisitions, as opposed to sales order invoices:
-
negative quantities are ignored (do not increase consignment)
-
an error message is issued if a part that is being entered is not in consignment
-
back ordering of parts is not allowed.
