Service Information

You can use the Service Information tab to set an employee's technician rates and weekly shift hours.

To open the Service Information tab, click the Service Information tab from the Employee Information tab.

The Information fields on the Service Information tab are:

Field Description
Employee Number

The number of the employee. A five-character alphanumeric number that represents the employee within the system.

The employee number is used as the technician number in the Work Order system.

Employee Name The name of the employee.

The fields on the Technician Rates section of the Service Information tab are:

Work Order Rate Per Hour

The default work order labor rate for this employee.

Note:  Internal or warranty shop labor rate can be configured on the Cash Codes screen if they are different than the work order rate per hour.

Work Order Cost Per Hour

Enter the actual labor cost per hour for work performed by this technician. To perform automatic labor costing, corresponding G/L Accounts must be set up on the application in Financial Management > General Ledger > Chart of Account.

Note:  Automatic costing is only available to those dealers who are using WIP method "I" (at cost). If you are not performing automatic costing, the system uses this cost to determine an estimated margin in the Labor section of the Area Sales and Profitability applications.

Work Order Account The default labor sales account to which customer, internal, and warranty labor sales are credited for this employee when entering shop labor hours.
Service Location

The technician's primary service location where they perform the majority of their work.

Inside/Outside/Shift Indicates whether the technician is an internal or external employee.
Road Technician

Indicates whether the technician is a road technician. If option is selected, you can assign this technician work orders from any location at your dealership.

Drag and Stick

This option creates a way for service supervisors to organize their technicians to complete a series of work orders.

Once enabled, the following message will be displayed:

The field in the Shift Hours section of the Service Information tab are:

Shift Hours

The amount of hours the technician is available to work each day of the week.

If you are using the Technician Service Scheduling screen at your dealership, you must configure shift hours for at least one day in order for the selected technician to appear on the Technician Service Scheduling screen.

Use these buttons to complete your work on the Service Information tab:

Button Function
Save Saves changes made on the Service Information tab.
Close Closes the Service Information tab without saving and returns to the Employee Profile screen.
