Installing IBM i Access for Windows

  1. Open Network Share
  2. Open any Windows File Manager program. (ie. My Documents, My Computer)
  3. In the address bar type in \\<your as400 IP> as \\pfwfXXXX.adp-id.net. (XXXX is your library)
  4. Once logged in you can access the folder QIBM
  5. From QIBM click on ProdData.
  6. From ProdData there will be two possible options depending on release level: "\\x.x.x.x\QIBM\ProdData\Access\Windows" or "\\x.x.x.x.\QIBM\ProdData\CA400\Express\Install\Image"
  7. Copy over the entire folder to your library. This can take a significant amount of time.
  8. Launch cwlaunch.exe to complete the install.
  9. Restart your computer.

Note:   The \\ indicates that you wish to access a network share. In this case is it the network located on 400, or as400 IP. You will be asked to login using an ID that is valid with that particular network.
