Margin Worksheet Overview

The Margin Worksheet is a work flow application integrated into IntelliDealer's equipment quoting system. You can use it to approve or deny an equipment quote based on the margin of the quote, which is calculated as the total equipment Price minus total equipment Cost, as displayed on the Margin Worksheet tab.

If Program % is used, then it is calculated off of the Equipment Profile's Invoice Amount field, not the Current Cost, Net Book Value OR the Sale Price.

Configuration

Before using the margin worksheet, complete these configuration tasks in the order specified:

  1. Configure the margin worksheet manager level for the desired users.
  2. Configure the margin user levels for each margin worksheet manager.
  3. Configure the margin programs for your branch.
  4. Configure the margin additional costs for your branch.
  5. Configure the margin reserves for your branch.
  6. Optionally, for salespeople, activate the Margin Worksheet Mandatory switch on the Authorization List for Product Support - Equipment Quoting screen.

Margin Worksheet Work Flow

When the system is configured to use margin worksheet system, the following work flow applies to the equipment quoting system. Note that at any point during the review process, a level 3 manager can Takeover a margin worksheet for review to accept or reject it.

  1. After creating a new equipment quote, the salesperson forwards the quote to a margin worksheet manager for review using the Forward button on the Margin Worksheet tab.

  2. The margin worksheet manager locates the quote on the Equipment Margin Worksheets screen and reviews the margin worksheet associated with the quote.

    1. If the Gross Margin of the selected worksheet falls within the Margin User Levels configured for the manager, they can Accept or Reject the quote.
    2. If the Gross Margin of the selected worksheet exceeds the margin user levels configured for the manager, they can either Reject the quote or Forward it to a level 2 manager for review.
  3. After the worksheet is reviewed by the appropriate manager, the quote is returned to salesperson who originally created it.

    • If the worksheet is approved, the salesperson can then convert the quote to an invoice using the Click here to move this accepted Quote to an Invoice link on the Customer - Quote Header tab.
    • If the margin worksheet is rejected, the salesperson can then edit the quote and Resubmit it for review from the Margin Worksheet tab, effectively restarting the margin worksheet work flow.
