Vendor Categories

Use the Vendor Categories screen to view categories, add categories or edit categories that are used to classify vendor contacts in the Vendor Profile section.
To open the Vendor Categories screen, navigate to Configuration > General Ledger > Accounts Payable > Vendor Categories.

Click here to add link.To successfully complete Electronic Funds Transfers using the system, a Vendor Category with a Category code of "EFT", and a Description of "Electronic Funds Transfer" must be created and applied to at least one Contact Profile in each Vendor Profile you wish to pay with an EFT.The fields on the Vendor Categories screen are:

| Category | A three character alphanumeric code representing the vendor category throughout the system (used for search and reference purposes). |
| Description | A brief description of the vendor category. |
The buttons to complete your work on the Vendor Categories screen are:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves changes made on the Vendor Categories screen. |
| Copy | This button appears only by accessing the Vendor Categories screen by clicking on a Code. |
| Save & New | Saves a newly added vendor category and refreshes the Vendor Categories screen, allowing you to add another vendor category without closing the screen. This button appears only by accessing the Vendor Categories screen by clicking the Need to create a new category? Click here to add link. |
| Save & Next | Allows you to save any edits/changes made to the selected vendor category and scroll through to the next vendor category in the list to apply any edits/changes. This button appears only by accessing the Vendor Categories screen by clicking on a Code. |
| Delete | Deletes the selected vendor category from the Vendor Category screen. |
| Close | Closes the Vendor Categories screen without saving and returns to the Vendor Categories screen. |
