SAM Programs

Use the SAM Programs screen to set up programs, edit programs, service agreements and machine schedules. You may only need to do this once or you may need to add service agreement schedules to machines as you sell them.

To open the SAM Programs screen, click a Program or the Need to create a new program? Click here to add link on the SAM Programs screen.

Fields on the SAM Programs screen are:

Field Description
Program Program name or identifier for the kind of maintenance program you offer to your customers. Enter the alphanumeric code you are assigning to this program.
Description A brief description of the new program.
Cash Code The default cash code associated with the SAM program code that is used when a work order is added from Service Agreements.
Process Type

The status of the program. When a contract is created using a program marked as:

  • Actual: the system lays the schedule out at the intervals defined within the program.

For example, a unit with 35 hours which is set up using an Actual SAM agreement with durations of 250, 500, and 750. The system requires the unit to come in when the hours reach 250, 500 and 750.

  • Additive: the system takes the hour metering reading on the unit and adds the first interval hours to it to determine when the first service occurs.

For example, a unit with 35 hours which is set up using an Additive SAM agreement with the same durations (250, 500, 750), requires the unit to come in when the hours reach 285 (250 + 35), 535 (500 + 35), and 785 (750 + 35).

  • Deactivate: deactivates a program selected from the drop down list.
Display in MyDealer Indicates if the program displays in MyDealer - Recommended Service Schedule.

Use these buttons to complete your work on the SAM Programs screen:

  • Click Save to save changes made on the SAM Programs screen.

  • Click Copy to copy the selected SAM programs. This button appears only by accessing the SAM Programs screen by clicking a Program.

  • Click Save & New to save a newly added SAM program and refresh the SAM Programs screen, allowing you to add another SAM program without closing the screen. This button appears only by accessing the SAM Programs screen by clicking the Need to create a new program? Click here to add link.

  • Click Save & Next to save any edits/changes made to the selected SAM program and scroll through to the next SAM program in the list to apply any edits/changes. This button appears only by accessing the SAM Programs screen by clicking a Program.

  • Click Delete to delete the selected SAM program from the list on the SAM Programs screen. This button appears only by accessing the SAM Program screen by clicking a Program.

  • Click Close to close the SAM Programs screen without saving and return to the SAM Programs screen.
