Quick Add Work Order
Use the Quick Add Work Order screen to create a new work order with basic information required to begin service work on equipment.
To open the Quick Add Work Order screen, tap the Sub Menu
icon on the MobileTech screen and select Quick Add Work Order from the drop-down list.
The Quick Add Work Order screen is organized into three sections:
Customer Info Section
The fields in the Customer Info section are:
| Field | Description |

| Location | The company, division, and branch location where the work order is created. This field is read-only and displays the default location. |
| Customer Number | The customer number for the work order. |
| Contact Number | The customer contact ID. If left blank, the contact number is considered generic. If zero, the contact number is considered the default contact. |
| Salesperson Code | The salesperson code associated with the work order. |
| Responsible Salesperson | The responsible salesperson for the work order. |
| Avalara Tax Entity Use Code | The Avalara tax entity use code for tax exemption purposes. This field appears only if the user has Security Switch 810 - Work Orders - Secure Tax/AvaTax Codes activated. |
When a customer number is selected, the Sold To section displays customer information:

| Name | The customer name from the customer record. |
| Address | The customer address, including address lines, city, province or state, and postal or zip code. |
The Ship To section fields are:

| Ship To Customer Name | The name of the ship-to customer location. |
| Address 1 | The first line of the ship-to address. |
| Address 2 | The second line of the ship-to address. |
| Address 3 | The third line of the ship-to address. |
| Zip/Postal Code | The postal code for the ship-to address. |
| Latitude | The latitude coordinate for the ship-to location. |
| Longitude | The longitude coordinate for the ship-to location. |
| Pricing Group | The pricing group for the ship-to location. This field is read-only and appears only when a value exists. |
Stock Info Section
The fields in the Stock Info section are:

| Stock Number | The stock number of the equipment. Enter "?" to create a miscellaneous stock number entry. |
| Unit | The unit identifier for the equipment. This field is read-only and appears when a valid stock number is entered. |
| Serial Number* | The serial number of the equipment, as provided by the manufacturer. This field is required. |
| Description* | The description of the equipment. This field is required when the stock number is "?". |
| Model | The model of the equipment. This field is required when the stock number is "?". |
| Machine Hours | The current hour meter reading on the equipment, indicating the total operating hours. This value is used for warranty tracking, maintenance scheduling, and service history. If the equipment has two hour meters, both Machine Hour 1 and Machine Hour 2 fields appear. The fields appear based on the hour meter configuration for the equipment. |
| Machine Down* | Indicates whether the machine is down. Select Yes or No. This field may be required based on location settings. |

Segment Info Section
The fields in the Segment Info section are:

| Segment Status | The status of the work order segment. Select from ACTIVE, CUSTOMER, WARRANTY, or INTERNAL. |
| Work Order Type |
Select one or more work order types: Pickup (Picked Up), Delivery (Delivered), or Service Call (Mobile Tech). Selecting Service Call clears Pickup and Delivery options. Selecting Pickup or Delivery clears the Service Call option. |
| History Description* | A description of the work to be performed. |

Each work order segment contains these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Type | The two-character service type code. This field may be required based on location settings. |
| Reason | The one-character reason code. This field may be required based on location settings. |
| Technician* | The five-character technician number assigned to the segment. |
| Original Technician | The five-character technician number for rework or the original technician. This field is optional. |
| Estimated Hours | The estimated number of hours to complete the work. This field may be required based on location settings. |
| Estimated Completion | The estimated date when the work is expected to be completed. This field may be required based on location settings. |
| Rate Code | The two-character rate code for the segment. This field is required if the user has Security Switch 810 - Work Orders - Mandatory Rate Code activated. |
| Job Code | The job code assigned to the segment. |
| Make* | The two-character equipment make code. |
| Model* | The equipment model. |
| Job Code Description* | The description of the job code. |
| Complaint | A detailed description of the customer complaint or issue. This field is optional and supports multiple lines of text. |

You can add multiple segments to a work order by tapping the Add Segment button. Each segment can be removed individually using the Remove Segment button, except when only one segment exists.
Tap Save to create the work order with the entered information, or tap Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving.
