Configuration: Types Listing

Use the Types screen to search for, edit, and add part type codes to the parts system. Type codes added to the system are valid type codes on the Select Type Codes screen accessed from on the Parts Profile tab by clicking on the Search icon next to the Type field in the Parts Profile system.

To open the Typesscreen, navigate to Configuration > Parts > Profile > Type.

Adding a Parts Type Code

1. Navigate to Configuration > Parts > Profile > Type.
   

   The Types screen appears.

   

2. Click the Need to create a new type? Click here to add link.
   

   The Types screen appears.

   

3. Enter a two-character alphanumeric type Code and the associated Vendor Number

   - or -
   Click on the Search icon to find a vendor.
   

   The Vendor Selection screen appears.

   

4. Fill out the appropriate fields and click the Go >> link.
   

   The Vendor Selection screen refreshes the displayed search results.

   
   
   

5. Click on a Vendor.
   

   The Types screen appears, listing the select vendor in the Vendor Number field.

   

6. Enter the branch Location where the type code is valid.
   - or -
   Click on the Search icon and select a location.

   The Location Selection screen appears.

   

7. Enter a brief type code Description.

   The Types screen appears.

   

8. Click the Save button to save the new type code and return to the Types screen.
   - or -
   Click the Save & New button to save the new type code.
   The Types screen refreshes, allowing you to add another type code without closing the screen.

Deactivating a Parts Type Code

1. Navigate to Configuration > Parts > Profile > Type.
   

   The Types screen appears.

   

2. Fill out the appropriate fields and click the Go >>.
   

   The Types screen refreshes the displayed search results.

   

3. Click on a Code.
   

   The Types screen appears.

   

4. Select the Active for System checkbox, removing the checkmark.

   Clear the Active for System checkbox.

   

5. Click on the Save button in order to deactivate the type code within the system.

Screen Description

The sorting options on the Types screen are:

Sort by
Field	Description
Code	Sort the search results by type code.
Vendor Number	Sort the search results by vendor number.
Location	Sort the search results by branch location.
Description	Sort the search results by type code description.

The search fields on the Types screen are:

Field	Description
Select Code	Search for a type code by entering a two character type code.
Select Vendor Number	Search for a type code by entering a vendor number.
Select Location	Search for a type code by entering a location.
Select Description	Search for a type code by entering a type code description.
Include Inactive	If selected, includes inactive type codes within the search results.

The fields appear on the Types screen are:

Field	Description
Code	An alphanumeric code used to define the part type codes within the parts profile system.
Vendor Number	The vendor number the type code is set up as a valid type code to define parts within the parts profile system.
Location	The branch location the type code is currently used as a valid type code.
Description	A brief description of the type code.
