Rates
To open the Rates screen, hover over the Configuration link from anywhere within IntelliDealer and select Service> General Ledger> Rates from the drop down list.
The Rates screen allows you to define work order rates used to charge labor on work orders and quotes. A Work Order Rate is usually defined and used for specific rates that cannot be easily derived from the employee’s Work Order Rate per hour. For example, many dealers define a job code and/or Work Order Rate for seasonal “get ready” specials offered to their customers. A rate code can be used alone or can function as a multiplier with a job code. Valid rate codes will appear on the Select Rate Code screen accessed by clicking on the Search icon next to the Rate Code field on the Segments tab.
The following are different sources for the labor rates charged on Work Orders:
-
A technician’s rate can be used with a Premium Code. The Premium Code is entered when recording hours worked on a Work Order.
-
A rate is entered in by the user when recording hours worked on a Work Order. It will override any rate normally calculated for the Work Order (for that entry only).
-
A rate can be entered on the Segments tab. This will be used for all subsequent labor hours unless changed manually when entering labor.
-
