Parts Per Package (PPK)

Parts per Package (PPK) can be used when you purchase ONE PACKAGE and sell multiple parts from that package. For example, you purchase ONE BOX of 100 screws, and sell each screw individually. Or you purchase a SINGLE ROLL of tubing and sell it by the foot.

To add a new part using a PPK value: (skip to page 2 for existing parts)

In Parts Profile, click to add a new part, give it a part number and location then click save:

Next enter your COST and LIST for the PACKAGE, and the Parts per Package value. In this example we have a box of fuel line that costs $5 and contains 100 feet. We plan to sell this by the foot, so our PPK will be 100. Enter any other required information and hit save.

You will now see the parts profile, notice it has the COST/LIST we entered, but the sell price has been calculated for 1/100th of LIST due to our PPK being 100.

To make further changes to the part, click Update/View Profile. The PPK value is in the middle:

Let’s say for example we include a 20% bump over list, once we update the INCREASE value and save, the SELL price will be (LIST+20%)/PPK, now we sell that line for $0.12 a foot:

Ordering and Receiving Parts with a PPK value

When ordering parts that use a PPK value, remember to order the number of PACKAGES you need:

Notice our ON HAND is currently ZERO, we are ordering 2 PACKAGES of line.

Once that order is received into the system, your ON HAND count will increase by ORDERED*PPK, so in this case the TWO packages we ordered gets receipted in as 200 ON HAND.
