VitalEngage Text: Opt-in Form
Use the Opt-in Form screen to configure branding details for an email message requesting consent from the customer. The email contains a link the customer can click to provide consent. After the customer consents, the dealership can send that customer text messages via VitalEngage Text. See also VitalEngage Text and the Consent Dashboard screen.
To open the Opt-in Form screen, navigate to Configuration > Interfaces > VitalEngage Opt-in > Opt-in Form.
US text messaging regulations require that you obtain consent from US customers before you can send them text messages. You cannot send a text message to a US customer who has not yet consented to receive messages. This includes sending automated alert messages via text.
You can send consent request emails in these ways:
-
Individually from the Consent Dashboard screen.
-
Individually from the Customer Profile or Contact Profile screen when you attempt to send a text message.
-
In bulk through the nightly VitalTextBulkEmailJob batch job when Bulk Email Scheduler Enabled is set. See Scheduler Settings and IntelliDealer Batch Jobs.
If you manually try to send a text message to a customer who has not yet consented:
-
On the Customer Profile or Contact Profile screen, a pop-up opens requesting you to send an email message to the customer.
-
On any other screen, an error message displays with a notification that this customer has not yet consented to receive text messages.

Scheduler Settings
Use the Scheduler Settings section to enable or disable the nightly batch job that sends bulk consent request emails to customers. When the scheduler is enabled, the VitalTextBulkEmailJob job runs each night at 9:00 PM, generates a customer consent request list, and sends consent emails up to the configured Daily Email Limit. Monitor scheduler status and customer consent progress on the Consent Dashboard screen.
Fields in the Scheduler Settings section are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Bulk Email Scheduler Enabled |
Set this toggle to Enabled to run the nightly batch job that sends bulk consent request emails to customers. VitalEdge generates the consent request list and sends a consent email to each customer in the batch, up to the Daily Email Limit. Set this toggle to Disabled to stop the scheduled job from running. Customers who have not yet consented can still be sent a consent email individually from the Consent Dashboard, Customer Profile, or Contact Profile screen. Note: This toggle is available only when the user has the Allow Access to Send Bulk Emails using VitalEngage Opt-in security switch enabled. |
| Daily Email Limit | Select from the drop-down list how many bulk consent emails the nightly scheduler sends per run. Options range from 500 to 5000 in increments of 500. Defaults to 500.
