IntelliDealer Batch Jobs - Complete Reference
This document provides descriptions for all batch jobs visible to dealers in the IntelliDealer system.
The Complete Batch Jobs Listing displays a list of every system and OEM job that can be scheduled from the Jobs in Batch screen.
Navigate to Quick Links > Jobs in Batch to that are currently in the system queue to be run either during business hours or nightly. Navigate to Administration > Settings > Batch Jobs to view user-licensed jobs. Job Scheduler: Batch Jobs
Note: When an interface is licensed and configured, its jobs begin running on their default schedule. Review the interface's jobs in this reference (for example, the Complete Batch Jobs Listing, which all default to 11:00 PM nightly) and reschedule them as needed to avoid overlap with system maintenance, the Full Database Reorganize, or dealer-specific maintenance windows. Use this list when troubleshooting intermittent or failed jobs after an interface is enabled. See FileBound Overview and Configuration: FileBound.

The main types of batch jobs, each with their own intended purposes, are Nightly, Manual, and Cron jobs.

Billing Queue Run Job
System Job Name: BillingQueueRunJob
Description
Processes the Real-time Billing (RTB) queue. By default, the job runs every minute and performs these functions:

Orphan recovery—identifies entries that have remained in Processing status for longer than ten minutes (or have no processing start time), marks the original entry as Failed, and creates a new Pending entry for reprocessing.

Automated failed retries—creates a new Pending entry for eligible Failed entries after a two-minute delay. Automatic retries are limited to ten attempts. Some failure types are excluded from automatic retry.

Queue processing—processes Pending billing queue entries sequentially, by division, and executes the appropriate billing run services. Supported queue types include General Invoicing, Parts Invoicing, Work Orders, Rental Counter, and Equipment Invoicing. Work Order reversals are queued as General Invoicing entries.
Only one queue entry per division may be in Processing status at a time. If the billing queue is paused, Pending entries remain in the queue until processing resumes. If the job is disabled, the scheduled job performs no processing.
Important — Billing Queue Scheduling
For dealers using Real-time Billing, the Billing Queue Run Job should remain active and scheduled at the default one-minute interval. The one-minute schedule is recommended but is not currently enforced and may be modified through Batch Jobs.
Warning: Increasing the schedule interval delays processing of queued billing transactions. Pausing the job stops processing of all Pending queue entries, including Work Order reversal postings, until the job is resumed.
Dealers without Real-time Billing enabled may pause the job if desired. Although new RTB entries cannot be added when RTB is disabled, the job can still process existing Pending entries and perform automatic retries of eligible Failed entries.
Queue Processing Notes

Automatic retries occur no sooner than two minutes after a failure.

Automatic retries are limited to ten attempts and are not user-configurable.

Automatic retry creates a new Pending record; the original Failed record is retained.

Automatic retry only evaluates the most recent Failed record for a reference and is skipped if another Pending or Processing entry already exists for that reference.

Certain exception types are considered completed processing and are recorded as Completed rather than Failed.
-
Maintenance windows can stop processing during an active queue run.
Purge Behavior
Billing queue cleanup occurs automatically through a weekly purge job that runs Mondays at 11:00 PM server time. The clean up process performs these tasks:

Completed entries older than two months are deleted.
-
Failed entries older than two months are deleted only when billing was successfully completed through another billing path (including legacy billing).
-
Failed entries with no successful billing record are retained.

Manual Retry
Authorized users can manually retry eligible Failed entries from the Real-time Billing Queue screen. Manual retry supports overriding the billing date before creating a new Pending queue entry, which can be useful when a failure was caused by an invalid billing date or closed accounting period.
