Equipment Replenishment Overview

The Equipment Replenishment system is a feature of the Purchase Orders system that allows you to maintain a specific number of units at your dealership, based on the base code assigned to the units. While they are created in the Purchase Order (PO) system, Equipment Replenishment type POs are technically not a real PO because they are never sent to the vendor to be fulfilled. Instead, they stay in the system as a record of a location's required minimum inventory.

The process for using the Equipment Replenishment system is:

  1. Create Equipment Replenishment type POs for all equipment you want to maintain a minimum quantity on hand for. See Creating an Equipment Replenishment Purchase Order.

It is likely that several Equipment Replenishment POs are required and so you should organize them in a way that best suits the ordering practices of your dealership. Such as one for each Vendor, or one for each Base code of each Vendor.

Also note that when creating an Equipment Replenishment PO, the buyer defaults to the location because the PO is for replenishing stock for the dealership.

  2. On a regular basis, run the Equipment Replenishment report (FMPO02) to see if inventory needs to be ordered.

  3. If stock is low, create an order from an existing Equipment Replenishment template, see Creating a Purchase Order from an Equipment Replenishment.

  4. If the location's needs change, or vendors add new base codes, edit the Equipment Replenishment POs to modify the required on hand inventory.
