Add Fixed Asset

The Add Fixed Asset screen allows you to add a new fixed asset to the system.

To open the Add Fixed Asset screen, click the Need to create a new fixed asset? Click here to add link on the Fixed Assets screen.

Adding a Fixed Asset

  1. From anywhere in IntelliDealer, navigate to Financial Management > General Ledger > Fixed Assets .

  2. Select the Need to create a new fixed asset? Click here to add link.


  3. Enter a new Asset Number.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Fill in the fields on the Fixed Asset Profile referring to the Fixed Asset Profile help page.

  6. The Fixed Asset Profile tab has sub-tabs Accounting, Federal, Minimum, and State that you can use to set the fixed asset's depreciation rate. See the Accounting section of the Fixed Assets Profile help topic.

  7. Complete the profile by adding additional information about the asset to the Multimedia tabs as desired.

  8. Click the Save button to record your equipment profile entry, or click Close to exit without saving any of the information.

Screen Description

The field on the Add Fixed Asset screen is:

Field Description
Asset Number

Enter a new fixed asset number.

When adding a fixed asset that does not have an equipment profile loaded on the system, the Asset Number must contain at least one numerical digit (e.g. DESK1).

Use these buttons to complete your work on the Add Fixed Asset screen:

Button Function
Save Creates the new fixed asset and opens the Profile tab.
Close Closes the Add Fixed Asset screen without creating a new fixed asset and returns to the Fixed Asset screen.
