Setting up Freight and Fuel Surcharges
IntelliDealer can distribute freight and fuel surcharges from emergency parts orders to the associated parts sales orders or requisitions. Charges are allocated based on the distribution method you configure—quantity, line items, price, sales order, or weight.

Before you Begin
Use this setup when freight entered during parts order receipt should post automatically to related sales orders using configured part numbers. Fuel surcharges are calculated from the shipping vendor you select on the Add Freight screen.
Create the freight and fuel surcharge part numbers in Parts Profile before you configure freight parameters. Each part number used on the Freight screen must be an active part number at the location.

Adding a Ship Via Code—(optional) if you use fuel surcharges, configure a Fuel Part Number on the Freight screen and set up shipping vendors on the Ship Via screen.
How Freight Distribution Works
After freight parameters and ship via codes are configured by location, the Add Freight screen appears when you click Update on a Parts Order that contains customer-ordered parts being receipted. Posted freight and fuel surcharges are added to each sales order or requisition using the part numbers defined on the Freight screen for that location.
As an alternative to freight distribution, you can recoup freight using Related Parts on the parts profile.
