Setting up FREIGHT and FUEL Surcharges

Freight and Fuel surcharges can be applied to emergency parts orders within the system and are distributed on the associated part based on the default distribution method, either quantity, line items, price, sales order, or weight.

Setup:

The Freight screen must first be set up to indicate the part numbers used to charge freight and fuel surcharges on a parts sales order. The Freight screen also allows you to set up a default distribution method (quantity, line items, price, sales order, or weight) which will determine the distribution of the freight and/or fuel cost.

If you are using Fuel surcharges, the EVIA table must be set up. A fuel surcharge percentage or amount must be specified for each shipping vendor that is configured within the system.

How it Works:

Once the Freight screen and the EVIA table are configured (by location) the Add Freight screen will appear when updating customer ordered parts on a parts order. The Add Freight screen will allow you to add freight charges, fuel surcharges and determine how the charges will be distributed on the parts sales order. Freight and fuel surcharges will be applied to the parts sales order based on the part numbers previously set up on the Freight screen.
