Base & Options: Base Profile Tab
The Base Profile tab allows you to set base codes for the selected unit.
To open the Base Profile tab, click the Update/ View Profile link on the Base Profile screen.
Note: If the Retain Equipment Base/Option Values in the System Settings - Division tab is set to Y, the system retains the existing base and option code values already assigned to a unit, even when the base and option code values are changed. Changes can only be keyed manually on the Base & Options tab of an equipment profile.
If set to N, the system automatically changes existing base and option code values already assigned to a unit when they are changed on the Base Profile or Options screens. Changes cannot be manually entered on the Base & Options tab of an equipment profile.
The fields on the Base Profile tab are:

| Base Number |
The base number code for the equipment unit. The Base Number along with options numbers, define the makeup of the equipment unit (Description, Make, Model, Group, Price, Cost, and Class) within the system. |
| Make | The manufacturer of the unit. |
| Model |
The model number on the unit. |
| Group |
The unit's group code. If the John Deere Group Codes for Incoming Units setting (on the System Settings - Division tab) is deactivated (N) and you change the group code in this field, the system will automatically apply the new group code to any JD MINT equipment profiles assigned to the selected base code. |
| Miscellaneous |
If selected, indicates that the code is a miscellaneous base code. A miscellaneous base code allows the user to overrides the make, model, description, and price fields. A miscellaneous base code is primarily used when adding used equipment units into the system. However, miscellaneous base codes can also be used when adding attachments to new units. |
| Active for Build | If selected, allows the base code to be used when building a unit using the Build Unit link on the Details tab of an equipment quote. |
| Description | A brief description of the unit. |
| Extended Description | A more detailed description of the unit. |
| Price |
Retail price for the base code. For new equipment the price loaded on the base code automatically loads. The price field is optional for miscellaneous base codes. |
| AvaTax Product Code | Identifies the type of item being sold. |
| Cost | The cost of the unit. |
| Select Class | Based on the class code where the unit is manufactured. |
| Active for Equipment | Whether the base code is active for use in the equipment system. |
Use these buttons to complete your work on the Base Profile tab:

| Close | Closes the Base Profile tab without saving and returns to the Base Profile screen. |
