John Deere Credentials

The John Deere Credentials screen replaces the legacy JD IDs screen and is available in IntelliDealer 5.0 onwards. Use the John Deere Credentials screen to update and maintain credentials for John Deere interfaces. The interfaces that appear depend on the features licensed for your dealership.

The feature numbers that must be licensed for each interface are:

Interface Feature Number
JDQuote II

PFW.6220 - JDQuote2/JDPO Service Interface

or

PFW.6163 - JD Quote II

JD Point-Part Availability/Orders PFW.1007 - JDParts
JD Proactive Job PFW.6233 - Formerly JD SVAP
JD Warranty PFW.6200 - John Deere Warranty Web Service
JD Warranty Credits PFW.6241 - John Deere Warranty Credits
Parts Catalog (formerly called Parts Advisor) PFW.6000 - John Deere PMPro EPC
JD Expert Services PFW.6265 - John Deere Expert Services
JDLink AEMP PFW.6186 - JDLink

The Dealer Number field shows Main when no dealer number is associated with that credential set. The Fleet Code field applies only to the JDLink AEMP configuration; it is a unique identifier used to differentiate JDLink AEMP fleets when the dealer has more than one fleet. Fleet Code is optional unless the dealer has multiple JDLink AEMP fleets, and the field accepts any unique alphanumeric value.

To open the John Deere Credentials screen, navigate to Configuration > Interfaces > John Deere > Credentials.

Topics in this section include:

Main tab

The Main tab is the default tab when you open the John Deere Credentials screen. Use this tab to view or manage credentials that apply at the system level—that is, the primary dealer account used across the dealership when no division-specific or location-specific credential set is selected. Credential rows that use the main dealer account display Main in the Dealer Number column. For dealers with a single division or a single set of John Deere credentials, the Main tab is typically where those credentials are configured and listed.

Creating a Main credentials entry

Use this procedure to create a system-level credentials entry that applies across the dealership. The entry displays as Main in the Dealer Number column and is used when no division-specific or location-specific credential set is selected.

  1. Open the John Deere Credentials screen and click the Main tab.

  2. Click Create at the bottom left of the screen. A pop-up opens where you choose the interface to configure credentials for.

  3. Select the desired interface from the Interface drop-down.

  4. Leave Dealer Number as Main. Do not select a specific dealer number from the list. If you save without selecting a dealer number, the system sets the value to Main.

  5. For JD Proactive jobs, Click either signin.johndeere.com or sso.johndeere.com to open the authorization portal. Enter your John Deere user ID and password that have access to the interface you are configuring, then click Sign In.

If successful, Configuration Successful is displayed in green.

  6. Click Save and Close. The new entry appears in the credential list with Main in the Dealer Number column.

On the listing screen, the token expiration field shows when the token will expire and the user ID that performed the authorization.

New Credentials System tab

Use the New Credentials System tab to manage credential sets for John Deere interfaces. The tab lists each credential set with Interface, Client ID, Client Secret, John Deere User ID, and Dealer Number. Dealers with multiple divisions can store division-level credentials so the correct set is used when users switch divisions. Credentials for JD Expert Services are managed on this tab when the feature is licensed; the John Deere Expert Services configuration page retains only Default Currency and Nightly Job Code Update.

Creating a new credentials entry

To create a new credentials entry:

  1. Click Create at the bottom left of the screen. A pop-up opens where you choose the interface to configure credentials for.

  2. To configure credentials for the chosen interface:

    1. Select the desired interface from the Interface drop-down. For example, a Warranty Systems interface:

Note:  This configuration is already complete for dealers who use legacy JD Quote II integrations.

    2. Optionally, to link these credentials to a specific dealer number, choose the dealer number from the list. For most dealers this is not necessary.

The dealer number list is pulled from vendors set up with the John Deere manufacturer code. For more information on setting up manufacturer codes, see Creating and Assigning a Manufacturer Code.

    3. Select the Credentials Type from the drop-down. This option controls the scope of the credential set and when it is used:

      • System—The credentials apply across the dealership. Use this when one set of credentials is used for all divisions and locations. If no dealer number is selected, the system typically treats the credentials as system-level (shown as Main in the list).
      • Division—The credentials apply only when the user is working in the selected division. Use this for dealers with multiple divisions that have different John Deere dealer numbers or credential requirements (for example, when each division uses its own Client ID and Client Secret).
      • Location—The credentials apply only when the user is working in the selected location. Use this when a specific branch or location needs its own set of credentials.

Choosing Division or Location together with a dealer number ensures the correct credential set is used when users switch divisions or locations.

    4. Enter your John Deere user ID and password that have access to the interface you are configuring, then click Sign In.

If successful, Configuration Successful is displayed in green. This does not confirm that the interface will work with that ID. John Deere's servers do not authenticate that your ID has access to the specified interface until you use that interface.

    5. Click Save and Close.

On the listing screen, the token expiration field shows when the token will expire and the user ID that performed the authorization. If you edit the interface, the Account ID and Token Expiration date appear at the bottom of the pop-up.

Interface-specific notes

JDLink AEMP

  • JDLink AEMP credentials are linked to the credentials on Configuration > Interfaces > John Deere > JDLink and Configuration > Interfaces > Other > AEMP. Updating or removing the credentials in either location updates the other.
  • You can only add JDLink AEMP credentials on the John Deere Credentials screen. To add AEMP Telematics credentials for another vendor, use the general AEMP configuration screen.

Parts Catalog (formerly Parts Advisor)

  • The Parts Catalog (Parts Advisor) MyDealer Integration interface has one set of credentials for the entire dealership and does not offer the option to associate a dealer number with the credentials.
  • These credentials are linked to the credentials on Configuration > Interfaces > John Deere > Parts Catalog. Updating the credentials in either location updates the other.
