John Deere Expert Services: Configuration

John Deere Expert Services is a web-based inspections system developed by John Deere that allows the dealer create inspection steps (job codes) and create an inspection for machines using these steps. If the inspection step concludes that service needs to be done, the dealer can create a work order for it using the inspection steps.

The IntelliDealer John Deere Expert Services interface allows dealers to import Expert Services jobs into IntelliDealer Work Orders and Work Order Quoting. Jobs are imported as Job Codes in the system and are available on a read-only basis after they have been imported. The Job Codes are refreshed nightly with data from Expert Services.

When importing quotes and work orders from John Deere Expert Services the rate code is made mandatory when these security switches are enabled:

• For work order quotes, 813-Mandatory Rate Code

Accessing Expert Services

The Expert Services interface can be accessed from multiple locations. To view and search job codes and checklists, navigate to Product Support > Service > John Deere Expert Services.

Setup Notes

When setting up John Deere Expert Services, note that:

• Feature PFW.6265 - John Deere Expert Services is required to use the interface.

• Setup requires an Client ID and Shared Secret which are provided by John Deere during the activation process.

• The John Deere Account ID is the main account used for Expert Services.

• A default currency configuration option is available. If this field is not set, the currency defaults to US dollars. This default currency is used across the entire interface for all locations.

• The Nightly Job Code Update controls whether or not job codes are updated nightly from the Expert Services system. It is recommended to have this box checked, but it can be left unchecked (turned off) if desired.

• A button to manually run the nightly update is also available if an immediate refresh is required.

Setting up Expert Services Quote Imports

To import Expert Services Quotes, the dealer must set up authorization with John Deere. Contact John Deere to obtain your credentials.
