Movement Information

Use the Movement Information tab to define movement codes for each part by vendor.

Parts movement information categorizes on the most specific criteria first then the more general criteria. This prevents the user from having to enter all potential scenarios. The logic used by the system to determine a part's movement code is:

  • The Parts Division/Location/Vendor/Class/Source is checked, if one is not found.

  • The Parts Division/Location/Vendor/Class/Blank Source is checked, if one is not found.

  • The Parts Division/Location/Vendor/Blank Class/Source is checked, if one is not found.

  • The Parts Division/Location/Vendor/Blank Class/Blank Source, if one is not found.

  • The system will set the movement code to ?

Access the Movement Information tab from the Parts Ordering screen by clicking on the Ordering Options link and selecting Stock Transfer/Central Inventory from the drop down list, then click the Movement tab.
